As an Enhanced DDoS Mitigation customer, what happens when there is a DDOS attack?
If a DDoS attack occurs, the first thing you’ll notice is a high-severity alert. This may not always lead to an auto-mitigation, but if it’s a suspected attack, an auto-mitigation will begin. You’ll be able to view it under the Mitigation tab of the portal.
During the auto-mitigation, traffic is re-routed and cleaned by appliances on the edge of our network. These appliances clean malicious traffic (you still receive good traffic) up to 5 Gbps. If the attack exceeds 5 Gbps, all internet traffic going to the point of attack (good and bad) is remote trigger black holed.
This blocks all traffic from reaching you, and you won’t have internet connectivity. This is the system working as it should. Once the attack is over, your internet services will return to normal. If you believe you have no internet activity due to a DDoS attack, call Business Customer Care at 1.800.888.1300.
How do I reset my password?
Reach out to our support staff at 1.800.888.1300 to request a password reset. It can take up to two business days to complete the reset.
Do I need a certain internet connection to receive enhanced DDoS protection?
To get Midco’s enhanced DDoS protection for your business, you need a dedicated fiber internet connection at the location you would like to be protected.
