You may have recently been contacted about changes coming to your Midco Business services. We’re upgrading all eligible customers to a fiber connection – yay! This upgrade will bring symmetrical speeds, smoother performance, increased reliability and a better experience to support all you do, all day long. 

It starts with a free fiber conversion. 

Note: All eligible addresses must convert. If you’ve received this notification, you need to contact us to start your fiber conversion by the date indicated to avoid a service disconnect.

Your Professional Installation

If you’re an existing Midco customer, we schedule a free fiber conversion appointment to get you upgraded!

Before we can set the installation date, we may need to conduct an on-site survey. This allows a Midco field technician to assess your current wiring and equipment needs to prepare for the appointment and ensure a smooth installation. 

The field technician will work to convert all internet, phone and/or TV services during this appointment. In some cases, phone services may need to be scheduled for another date and time. 

Visit Prep Checklist

  • Have your smartphone charged prior to the appointment.
  • Grant property access to the technician. Please make sure all gates and fences are unlocked and security alarms are turned off.
  • Have at least one device (computers, phone, TV) per applicable Midco service ready in advance. This will help the technician conduct service tests to make sure everything is working properly before your appointment wraps.
  • Clear the area around cable, power and networking outlets, so they’re easily accessible for the technician.
  • If you have a phone system or internal network/firewall, you may want to make sure your IT and/or phone vendor is aware of the upcoming changes and have them on standby for fiber conversion date/time once it’s scheduled. 

What to Expect 

  • All conversions require a tech visit and an on-site contact to be present during installation.
  • The tech will call the on-site contact to provide their arrival time.
  • Our techs always wear Midco gear and have a Midco badge so you can be sure they are a member of the Midco team.
  • Your technician will arrive within 15 minutes of your scheduled appointment.1
  • The appointment will take approximately 2-3 hours.
  • A Midco technician will need to complete work inside and outside your business. We will install a new, unobtrusive box on the side of the building and potentially add an outlet or wiring.
  • We will also need access to utility rooms, shared utility crawl spaces and anywhere else Midco equipment is located. If we’re installing new lines, we will not place them anywhere they could present a safety hazard.
    • If a temporary, outside cable line is needed, we’ll contact you separately when that line will be buried.
  • If any technical issues arise, the technician will restore your previous services and schedule a follow-up visit to complete the installation.
