The Employee Login feature allows an employee to create their own profile with a mobile to create the own profile without the intervention of an admin. To enable this feature, the primary admin needs to log in to the WorkPass Web App.
Employee Self-Onboarding Using the Employee Login Feature
Once the Employee login feature has been enabled, your new employees can connect using any device with a screen (mobile device, tablet or computer).
The employee profile is now created and visible in the Wi-Fi Pro app. You can now assign all their previously assigned devices to the new profile so they are all associated with the same mobile phone number.
Note: Going through this flow automatically approves the device.
Can an employee use the Employee Login Feature on a device without a screen?
No. This feature only works for devices that can open a browser window to enter the required information. Devices connecting to the employee network without a screen will continue to need admin approval and need to be manually assigned to an employee by the admin.
What if the employee gets new mobile phone number?
Using a different mobile number when connecting the device to the employee network for the first time creates a new employee profile.
Any devices using the previous password will need to be updated with the new password. The Copy option lets you copy and paste the new password in an email for your employees.
Once a device is assigned to an employee, it is automatically removed from the Unapproved devices list.
There's no need to change the Employee Wi-Fi password if an employee leaves. Midco Business Wi-Fi Pro makes it easy to manage a former employee's access without having to make major changes to the network to keep it secure.
Once a person is deleted any previously shared devices will no longer be accessible even if they still have access to the Employee Wi-Fi password. If that person returns, their profile will have to be created again.
To ensure the security of your Wi-Fi Pro network, it is recommended that you enable the Limited network access for new devices option. This setting prevents any new devices from connecting to other local devices until approved by an administrator.
Approving Network Access for Unapproved Devices
Manually approving unapproved devices is handled through the Zones tab.
Once approved, the devices will be shown in the Approved devices list of the zone.
