Call Hold
Call Hold
When a call is placed on hold, verbal communications are halted; however, the connection is not terminated. Most phones already have a phone button you can use to place a call on hold. You or your internal phone system vendor may need to program this hold button. Many new phone systems have built-in features for holding calls. There is no monthly fee for call hold.
To place a call on hold:
Press the hold button on your phone. The call is placed on hold until you return to the call.
To remove a call from hold:
Press the hold key a second time to pick up the call again and resume voice communications with the other party.
