Midco Business Fixed Wireless Internet relies on microwave signals and antennas, but unlike satellite, your antenna won’t be pointed at the sky. Fixed wireless internet uses point-to-multipoint signals, meaning your antenna will point at equipment connected to Midco fiber that is on top of a nearby water tower, elevator or other tall structure.
Faster and more reliable than DSL or satellite internet, fixed wireless technology enables us to bring high-speed internet connectivity to customers in remote locations that we’re unable to reach with fiber and cable. And unlike satellite, your signal should not be affected by normal weather conditions.3

Do I need a phone line to receive internet service?
No, Midco Business Fixed Wireless Internet doesn’t use phone lines for the connection. You can, however, add a Midco Business Digital Phone Line to your package separately.
Do I need to purchase any equipment?
Yes. Midco will provide a fixed wireless modem, which you can lease for $8/month. Midco also does not provide a wireless router, so business customers must purchase their own. You can connect the router to your antenna with an Ethernet cable.
Can I self-install fixed wireless internet?
No. For the best possible implementation, we require a professional Midco technician to install this internet service.
How big is the antenna?
The size of your antenna will depend on how strong of a signal we can get at your residence. Our smallest antennas are 6 inches by 6 inches, and the largest is approximately 12 inches by 18 inches.
Is there a charge for installation?
Yes. There is a one-time installation fee, which you will see on your first month’s statement.
We have additional buildings on my property that we’d like to connect. Is that possible?
Yes. During your on-site review, let your Midco technician know which buildings you would like to connect, and they will work with you to determine a solution to meet your needs. We can connect up to two additional locations with extenders. The charge for each extender is $20 per month.4
Does fixed wireless include DDoS protection?
Yes. Midco provides a basic level of distributed denial-of-service protection with all our internet products to better protect you from network breaches.
