Speed Dial or Speed Call

Who: KS, MN, ND and SD phone customers

Also known as speed call, speed dial is a feature that enables you to store specific phone numbers in your phone, so you can dial them using quick codes rather than the entire phone number. Midco offers two different speed-calling options:

  • Speed call 8 stores up to eight phone numbers.
  • Speed call 30 stores up to 30 phone numbers.

How to Program Speed Call Numbers (MN, ND, SD Customers)

Who: MN, ND and SD phone customers

You have two speed calling options: 

  • Speed call 8 stores up to eight phone numbers.
  • Speed call 30 stores up to 30 phone numbers.

No matter how many numbers you're storing, the steps to save speed dial numbers are the same.

To set up and assign speed dialing numbers on your business phone:

  1. Lift the handset, and dial *75.
  2. After the stutter dial tone, enter a two-digit speed dial number.
    • Two-digit numbers range from 00-07 for speed call 8, and range from 00-29 for speed call 30.
  3. Dial the phone number you want assigned to that speed code.
    • For long-distance numbers, include a "1" and the area code.
  4. Press #. A fast busy signal indicates the telephone number has been stored.

To change a number in your speed call list:

  1. Lift the handset, and dial *75.
  2. After the stutter dial tone, enter a two-digit code you wish to change.
  3. Enter the newphone number you want assigned to that speed code.
    • For long-distance numbers, include a "1" and the area code.
  4. Press #. A fast busy signal indicates the telephone number has been stored.

How to Program Speed Call Numbers (KS Customers)

Who: KS phone customers

You can program a list of up to eight numbers to your speed dial.

  1. Lift the handset, and dial *74.
  2. Press a speed code number and # (for example 2#), and then the phone number you’d like to assign to that speed code.
    • For long-distance numbers, include a "1" and the area code.
    • Two beeps will sound to confirm you’ve successfully programmed the number for speed dial.
  3. Repeat these steps for other speed codes available to you (2-9).
  4. Hang up.

How to Use Speed Dial

Who: KS, MN, ND and SD phone customers

To use speed calling, all you have to do is press a few buttons to quickly contact the individual or business you’d like to reach.

  1. Lift the handset, and listen for the dial tone.
  2. Dial * and the speed code of the number you wish to call.
