Midco Network Coverage

8,400 Miles of Fiber and Growing

Partner with Midco Business and you’ll be more than a connection point on our 8,400-mile Northern Plains Network™. And we are now connected to the Arvig network through multiple interconnect points, which adds 4,000 fiber route miles available as Type 2 network extensions. We can serve you as your Ethernet needs grow – our backbone is scalable to eight terabits. You’ll also get unparalleled service with 24/7 monitoring by our own Network Operations Center.

Our MPLS fiber-optic network is redundant and can reroute connections within milliseconds. We station our engineers and certified fiber technicians throughout the region so you can be confident that you have a reliable connection with Midco.

Midco Business is proud to help many network-to-network interface (NNI) partners. We can help you expand coverage for your customers.

NNI Partnerships

We developed nearly 50 network-to-network (NNI) agreements with other carriers, including wholesale Ethernet companies, to extend their reach and establish connection points within Midco’s network. With E-Access services available throughout Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota, you can connect your network to the Northern Plains Network.

With Midco E-Access services, you’ll get:

  • Higher throughput with a lower cost per Mb than extending your own network
  • Scalability that always provides the bandwidth you need
  • Virtual private network (VPN) connectivity to one or many locations
  • Continuous network monitoring from a Midco-provided customer portal

Midco’s network is MEF 2.0 certified, which means our Access EPL and Access EVPL meet the Metro Ethernet Forum’s high standards for providers delivering E-Access connections.

Access EPL and EVPL

Carriers looking to extend Ethernet services into the Upper Midwest can benefit from Midco's Ethernet Private Line (EPL) and Ethernet Virtual Private Line (EVPL) setups. We deliver fully managed, high-bandwidth Ethernet between user-network interfaces (UNIs) – whether you need two connection points or many more.
