Removing the Work from Business Internet
Paystubz is a Rapid City, SD-based company that provides payroll, timekeeping, and human resource software for a group of clients spanning many states and even more industries. In the decade since Managing Member David Hanna founded Paystubz, its customer base has experienced meteoric growth – making sure 80 employees of clients were paid in the first month of 2008, and now 15,000+ per month.
To accomplish this successfully, Paystubz relies on secure, cloud-based human capital management software and direct fiber internet from Midco®.
“Given that we provide a cloud-based solution, seamless connectivity for us is critical,” said Hanna. “If we don’t have that connectivity first thing in the morning, we’re going to struggle that day. Because the quality of the service we get every day from Midco is exceptional, that helps us do what we do, so we can earn our money, and our clients have a better payday.”
A Smooth Transition
Reliable connectivity hasn’t always been a sure thing at Paystubz. Hanna remembers ongoing challenges and regular outages before a friend suggested making the switch to Midco in 2009.
"We were really struggling to have consistent service with our old provider. The internet would be spotty. It would go down," said Hanna.
Paystubz switched to Midco business internet, and now benefits from a direct fiber connection to power its business connectivity and growth.
"And the switch – honestly, right now, I can't remember a darn thing about it, which tells me it was really good. Because those kinds of switches, if something goes wrong, you're not going to forget it anytime soon."
Focusing on Business, Rather than Connectivity
Since switching to Midco, Hanna hasn’t thought about his internet service much – because the steadfast connectivity has removed the anxiety about this critical component of Paystubz’s operation.
“One of the things I’ve most enjoyed about partnering with Midco is I haven’t talked to you guys in a long time,” he said. “Because given the nature of what you do, it’s the type of service that’s out of sight, out of mind. And the only time it’s at the top of the mind is when there’s a challenge or an issue, and we haven’t had any.”
Internet Ready for the Future
As Paystubz has grown, it has come to rely on internet more heavily – especially as the company’s client base spreads farther away from Rapid City. There are more online meetings, making fast, consistent internet more important than ever. Since Midco has made that part of Hanna’s work no work at all, he is happy to refer friends and colleagues.
“There are so many other business challenges in the world today – that not having to worry about our connectivity is really, really nice,” added Hanna.
