A Custom Solution for Seamless Connectivity

Reliable, continuous wireless internet has long been a sought-after amenity for owners and tenants of multi-unit buildings. A common request I’ve received over the years is a solution for “dead areas,” spotty connections, and the need to connect and reconnect in order to keep up with ever-increasing online tasks. I’m excited to say that Midco’s Managed Wi-Fi is here to meet and exceed the expectations of our multi-unit customers – no matter their building’s age or architectural attributes – and it all started with a North Dakota business that shares our commitment to progress.

One-of-a-Kind Connection, One-of-a-Kind Building

Kilbourne Group is a real estate firm focused on redeveloping mixed-use properties in downtown Fargo. The company’s vision is one part preservation, one part innovation. After a series of consultations, Midco partnered with Kilbourne Group on a custom internet solution for The Woodrow Apartments – an old elementary school that Kilbourne Group has transformed into modern, beautiful living spaces – while also adding a connected, new apartment wing. With Midco Managed Wi-Fi, apartment residents enjoy complete web coverage thanks to strategically placed wireless access points and a system monitored by Midco. The result is a no-interference surfing and streaming experience.

“Part of creating a contemporary living and working environment for tenants is providing top-of-the-line amenities – chief among those being seamless, steadfast wireless internet connectivity.  We know that having Wi-Fi and being connected is very important to our residents. We want to ensure that wherever they are in the building – the courtyard, the gymnasium, in their friend’s apartment or common areas, or in their own unit – that they have a Wi-Fi system that is working as advertised. No issues, no hardware problems,” explains Kilbourne Group project manager Mike Zimney.

End-to-End Management

There are currently numerous vendors offering an array of managed Wi-Fi solutions for office, apartment and hotels today. All too often, these products fail to meet the customer or tenant’s wireless expectations, due to poor reliability and slow speeds that result in very poor experience.

Midco’s challenge was to create a solution that truly separates us from the others and creates that positive customer experience. We already deliver a robust internet product, and now we’ve taken it one step further with an end-to-end solution – from consultation to installation to ongoing support.

As Mike Zimney states, “We wanted a partner to provide a first-in-class product that meets the expectations of our residents and businesses. Working with Midco, moving forward, we know we’ll be able to have the same type of experience as we transition to other properties, and other business locations and projects. We’re very happy with Midco’s investment and its cutting-edge technology.”

A Solution for Every Structure

Being at the leading edge of such a practical solution is incredibly exciting. Midco is eager to bring our Managed Wi-Fi to the full gamut of multi-unit structures – eventually creating an amenity considered ubiquitous by tenants. We look forward to continuing our partnership with Kilbourne Group as they work to develop other unique, mixed-use properties in downtown Fargo. With the full support of the Midco team, this will be a game-changer in how Wi-Fi is delivered at work and at home.
